A Humble Hampton Take down The real H.U takes their crown
Howard held off Hampton in a tense, high‑paced Battle of the Real HU at CareFirst Arena on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The Lady Bison opened the game with strong play on both ends, carrying a 4‑point lead into the second quarter after outscoring the Lady Pirates 13–17 in the first. Howard extended that edge in the second, putting up 13–22 and heading to the half with momentum and confidence.
Hampton fought back in the second half, however, outscoring Howard 20–14 in the third and 14–11 in the fourth. The arena buzzed with enerHampton played really hard and they were very well coached.
The Lady Bison have made a big impact on campus, currently sitting at 9-5 and riding a two-game winning streak. They’ll close the calendar year at home this Saturday, December 20, when St. Bonaventure visits the Burr. Tipoff will cap a strong first half of the season and give the team a chance to build momentum heading into conference play.
Expect a physical, disciplined effort from the Lady Bison — strong defense and efficient half-court execution have been hallmarks of their recent stretch. Key contributors have stepped up on both ends, and home-court energy at the Burr should be a factor as the team looks to extend its streak and finish 2025 on a high note.
Fans should arrive early to support the squad as they aim to send the community into the holidays with another win.gy as the contest tightened late, but the Lady Bison were able to protect their brand, stay composed down the stretch and close out the win.
Zennia was a steady force, finishing with a double‑double — 11 points and 10 rebounds — while also contributing two blocks. Nile Miller and Zoe Stewart each added eight points as part of a balanced attack that featured several role players making timely plays. The Lady Bison have repeatedly shown they can win despite being underdogs, and Saturday was another example of the program’s resilience and growth under a relatively new staff.
Through mid‑December the Lady Bison have played just four true home games, going 3–0 at the Burr and 1–0 at a neutral site. On the road they are 5–5, with notable wins over Providence, GW, Elon, Monmouth, William & Mary, Fairfield, Hampton, and, as of December 16, Cincinnati. A number of their losses have been single‑digit margins — valuable experience that should serve them well as MEAC play approaches and the conference schedule intensifies.
